Wagons Roll… With Your Help

Burnham and District Model Railway Club was founded in 1976 with the aim of furthering the model railway hobby within Sedgemoor area of North Somerset. They organise a number of exhibitions including the popular annual event ‘Sedgemoor Rail’ at King Alfred School each summer and club exhibitions at their weekly meeting venue, Burnham Community Centre.

They regularly commission limited edition authentic scale model wagons such as the Holts Brewery and Bland & Co timber wagon featured in the picture above and recently sold models in aid of Burnham Community Centre.

They try to base each model on photographs of original wagons or company livery. If you have any such photographs or could give information on companies in and around Highbridge or Burnham then they’d be delighted to hear from you. You can contact exhibition and P.O.Wagons manager John Langley via his email address: johnlangley2001@yahoo.co.uk

If you’d like to know more about the club and their activities visit their site here or visit their next club exhibition on May 29th at the Burnham Community Centre.

  1. I have just been looking through an old Railway Modeller and saw an advert for a wagon. I am hoping they are. I am interested in ‘Smithers-Brighton.
Priced at £11.75 plus £4.00 postage.
Will you please let me know if they are and who to address my cheque to?
